Bod Mod

 

Performer and camera. Videotape yourself in a space of your choice and perform in the space. Using only your body, the camera and lights, activate the space and reorient yourself within it. Think of examples from performance-based early video art. This piece should be shot in one take with no edits. Carefully consider the position of the camera and your placement within the space.
 
Upon thinking about how to approach this assignment, I first decided that I would break the rule of being shot in secession. Each of the set up scenes would only have one chance and I would then move to the next. This piece is an in-camera edit. The sounds that you hear are sounds looped on a laptop that I thought would fit the mood of the scene. I used only my body and the things I found around me.
